【Notice】端午节假期放假通知及安全提示

端午节，又称端阳节、龙舟节等，是汉族的传统节日 ，日期在每年农历五月初五，是集拜神祭祖、祈福辟邪、欢庆娱乐和饮食为一体的民俗大节。

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival or the Dragon Boat Racing Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated by the Han ethnic group. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar each year, encompassing customs of worshiping gods and ancestors, praying for blessings and warding off evil spirits, as well as festivities, entertainment, and culinary delights.

传说战国时期的楚国诗人屈原在五月初五跳汨罗江自尽，后人亦将端午节作为纪念屈原的节日；也有纪念伍子胥、曹娥及介子推等说法。端午在传承发展中杂糅了多种民俗为一体，各地因地域文化不同而又存在着习俗内容或细节上的差异。

Legend has it that during the Warring States period, the Chu poet Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. Subsequently, the Dragon Boat Festival has been commemorated in his honor. Other theories suggest it is also a tribute to Wu Zixu, Cao E, and Jie Zitui. Over time, the festival has integrated various folk customs, with regional differences in practices and details due to diverse cultural influences.

端午习俗主要有扒龙舟、祭龙、挂艾草与菖蒲、拜神祭祖、食粽、放纸鸢、拴五色丝线、薰苍术、佩香囊等等。扒龙舟活动在中国南方沿海一带十分盛行。端午食粽之习俗，自古以来在中国各地盛行不衰。端午节期间通过传统民俗活动展演，既能丰富群众精神文化生活，又能很好的传承和弘扬传统文化。

Key traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival include dragon boat racing, dragon worship, hanging wormwood and calamus, paying respects to gods and ancestors, eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), flying kite-shaped paper, tying five-colored silk threads, burning moxa, and carrying scented sachets. Dragon boat races are particularly popular in coastal regions of southern China. The tradition of eating zongzi during the festival has persisted across China for generations. Through the enactment of traditional customs and activities during the Dragon Boat Festival, not only are people's cultural and spiritual lives enriched, but traditional values and heritage are also effectively and promoted.

1、假期去向告知：住校的同学应遵守宿舍管理规定，按时回校；如需假期外出旅行应提前告知学院老师去向和返回时间，并在钉钉上提交请假申请。无论在哪里，请保持手机、微信等畅通，密切关注学校发出的相关通知并及时回应。若有困难或需要帮助，请及时联系老师。

Holiday Plans Notification: Students residing on campus are required to adhere to dorm management regulations and return to the dorm on time. If you need to travel outside during the holiday period, please inform your school teachers in advance about your destination and return date, Also, do remember to apply by Dingtalk. Wherever you are, please keep your phone and WeChat available, closely follow the notices issued by the school, and respond in a timely manner. 2、远离毒品：任何涉毒行为，包括吸毒，贩毒，运毒，藏毒，都是违法行为。在中国，大麻、鸦片、海洛因、冰毒、吗啡、可卡因等均属毒品，尤其注意新型毒品，通常以电子烟里掺入合成大麻素的形式出现，请各位同学务必提高警惕、严加防范。

Stay Away from Drugs: Any drug-related activities, including drug use, trafficking, transporting, and possession, are illegal. In China, substances like marijuana, opium, heroin, methamphetamine, morphine, and cocaine are considered drugs. Pay special attention to new types of drugs, which often appear in forms such as synthetic cannabinoids mixed into e-cigarettes. Please remain vigilant and take strict precautions.

3、禁止非法就业：外籍人员未按照规定取得工作许可和工作类居留证件在中国境内工作的，属于非法就业。任何违法违纪行为，学校将视情节严重，给予相应处分。

Illegal work is prohibited: Foreign nationals working in China without the required work permit and work-related residence documents are engaging in illegal employment. Students who violate the regulations shall be subject to punishments from School according to the seriousness of the case.

4、谨防各类诈骗：不要把你的个人账户信息告诉任何陌生来电。切勿向身份不明的呼叫者透露任何卡或者验证码信息。

Be Cautious of Various Scam: Do not give your personal account information to any strangers who call. Never disclose any card or verification code information to callers with unknown identities.

6、外出注意安全：外出旅行期间注意交通安全。如有乘坐交通工具需求，请选择正规有牌照车辆，并系好安全带；要保管好现金和贵重物品，手机、手提电脑、数码相机等应随身携带或托人保管。

Pay attention to safety during travel: Please be cautious of the traffic safety during travel.  If you need to use transportation, choose a licensed vehicle and fasten your seat-belt; Mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras, etc., should be carried with you or entrusted to someone for safekeeping.

7、用火用电安全：请同学们提高消防意识。宿舍内严禁抽烟、严禁使用明火、严禁私拉电线、严禁使用电饭煲、电磁炉、热得快等大功率违禁电器。离开宿舍、住处前要检查检查是否关好水龙头、切断电源，防止火灾、触电及其它安全事故的发生。

Fire and Electricity Safety: Please always pay attention to fire prevention. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the dormitories, as is the use of open flames, unauthorized electrical wiring, and high-power appliances such as rice cookers, induction cookers, and instant heating elements. Before leaving your dormitory, ensure that faucets are turned off and power is cut off to prevent fires, electric shocks, and other safety accidents.
